I came across a book that was written by a guy named Joseph that teaches guys how to successfully meet and approach women. Something that he wrote about in that book prompted me to do a little experiment. Basically, the experiment was as follows (try it yourself): I went out to a local nightclub with a friend of mine and made a point to watch and listen to the pickup efforts of other guys. Here’s what we heard when the first group of super hot girls walked by; “Good God, You’re Hot”, “Watcha doin’ later”, “Where ya goin’”, “Hey, come back here and hang out”, etc. I couldn’t believe the crap that I was hearing. It shouldn’t surprise you to hear that most of the lines these guys used while trying to meet women (or any of the other pieces of crap lines I heard that night) did not yield the results that each and every guy were blindly hoping to get. The FUNNY thing is, these guys’ piece of crap lines present “gold nugget” opportunities for you and your buddies. Here’s why! It should be no surprise that good looking women are always approached and that guys are always trying to meet them. The problem is, it’s usually by guys using the “piece of crap lines” that I mentioned earlier. Here’s where you capitalize. It’s by using a technique that Joseph refers to as a situational opener. Basically, you’d use the other guys failed attempts as an opener (but you’re going to be much more creative, right?). So these hot girls are walking by and you hear these pathetic lines being hurled at the girls AND YOU might say something like this: “Oh my god! Every single guy is trying to pick you up! How annoying is that? You aught to hire BODYGUARDS just to keep all these horny kooks at bay!” Taking advantage of situational openers like these to approach women can open many doors that have previously been closed (for the other guys anyway). In addition, it shows that you have a mutual understanding of the reality you are both experiencing. This can help create an instant connection between the two of you. This is just one of hundreds of situational openers. Remember, if you do the same thing the other unsuccessful guys are doing, you’ll likely end up with the same crummy results.
